In Jeremiah 6:16 God tells His people, "Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; and you shall find rest for your souls." The verse goes on to give the people's response, "We will not walk in it." (NAS)
God's gives us in His word all we need for rest for our souls and for health for our bodies. Many of God's commandments and instructions in the Torah are practical, basic and provide a simple guide to how to eat and how to live long and prosper.
Unfortunately believers have often viewed God's instructions given through Moses to be "Jewish" or "the law" and do not think this vital information pertains to them. But, as the science of nutrition learns more about what our bodies need, these "modern day discoveries" are matching up closely to God's ancient paths of diet and health.
We encourage you to study God's dietary instructions in Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14 and seek His truth on what He would have you feed your body.
Remember, "that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?" (Cor 6:19-20 NKJV) Take care of the temple God has given you that you might live your life to the fullest and fulfill your purpose in Him.
Our God is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Would not His dietary instructions for His people's health in one generation make sense even today?
